Saving & Circuits

A saved layout in Circuit Builder is a circuit. You don’t have to save it yourself — the editor does that continuously, in the background, while you work.

Saving

Edits autosave a second or so after you stop making them, so there’s nothing to remember to click. There’s also a manual shortcut, Ctrl/Cmd+S, if you want to force a save right now rather than wait for the debounce — it does the same thing autosave would have done a moment later.

Signed in or not

Your circuits live on the device you’re working on either way. Sign in and they also sync to your account, so the same circuit is there when you open Circuit Builder on another device. The editor keeps working when your connection doesn’t — you can keep drawing with no network at all, and your edits catch up to your account once you’re back online.

My Circuits

Open My Circuits from the Circuits button in the toolbar to see everything you’ve saved: a grid of every circuit with a thumbnail, ready to open with a click. From there you can rename a circuit, duplicate one to branch off it, or delete one you no longer need. The toolbar button also keeps a short list of your most recently opened circuits one click away, without opening the full list at all.

Moving a circuit between devices or accounts

A circuit can also travel as a file, independent of sync. Export one from the toolbar’s Export menu — see Export & Printing — then bring it back in with the Import button in My Circuits, on any device or account. This is how you move a circuit somewhere sync doesn’t reach, like into a different account.
