Pieces & Build Progress

Choose Build → Pieces & progress to connect each numbered road piece with its dimensions, trial templates, and assembly record. Start with one section before printing the entire circuit.

Piece details and trial builds

In Pieces & progress, select a numbered piece on the plan or in the piece list. Its panel shows road widths, entry and exit surface heights, and an outline diagram. Expand All dimensions for curve parameters and other measurements. Small dimensions use millimeters or inches. The diagram includes shoulders; the listed road widths exclude them.

Use Start with piece in Pieces & progress or select a numbered piece to prepare a trial section. The panel shows how many tiles and US Letter template pages it needs. Download piece templates creates a ZIP: open index.html for piece measurements and guidance, then print.html for the full-size outline and calibration pages. Extract the complete ZIP first.

Trial templates include only the selected road-top outline, including shoulders. They omit neighboring roads, junction infill, markings, barriers, and scenery. Elevated pieces are shown in plan; the packet does not provide an unfolded surface or structural support cuts.

Track your build

Choose a piece in Pieces & progress, then expand Build progress to record it as Not started, Templates checked, Dry-fit, or Assembled. Add builder notes about fit, materials, and changes to make. Click Save progress to keep these records with the circuit; the printed report includes them.

A progressed piece gets a Needs recheck flag when its shape, elevations, placement, scale, or template setup differs from the design it was checked against. Its stage and notes remain intact. Compare the current design and reprint affected templates if needed, then click Mark rechecked and save progress. Editing notes or changing a stage does not clear this flag.

Display units, prices, and material choices do not trigger the geometry check. Records for removed roads or roads with unresolved endpoints remain under Saved records outside this report.
